MAKE UP! THAT'S MY THING ;)

Hey everyone

I recently realised that I have somewhat abandoned my blog!!! :(
My life is moving very fast paced and I am quite the bit busy of late :( however that is no excuse not to be making posts at least once every two weeks!?

Today's post is on MAKE-UP! and yes, I have to write it in capitals because this is how passionately I feel about the subject and for those wondering if  make-up is one or two words or hyphenated; it is in fact ONE word. So it should actually be spelt 'Makeup' because it is actually a noun referring to facial cosmetics. Nonetheless, I feel it should be two words simply because it looks wrong as one word and adding a hyphen to it makes it two words......"Make-up"?? (yes/no?)

OK enough of the controversy lol

So first and foremost I think it's only right to share my overall vanity collection; some may think it's overwhelimg and others may think i've got next to nothing. (trust me i've seen the products some people accumulate and its like walking into MAC)

So here we have my everyday essentials!
Mary Kay foundation (Bronze 7)
Chanel Lumiere foundation (134 Amber)
MAC Select Cover Up Concealer (NW45)
FYI: I mix the Chanel foundation and the Select Cover Up concealer for my bright  under eye look
Bobby Brown gel liner
Tom Ford Blusher (04 Savage)
Wet n Wild Vanity Palette (the purple shade for my brows)
Milani baked blush (luminoso)
GOSH lip primer
Benefit Bad Gyal lash (mascara)
Sleek face contour kit (medium)
Illamasqua concealer for deep contouring (cc335)
MAC pro longwear concealer (NW50) <to cover up blemishes
MAC Studio finish conealer (NW45) <for brows
MAC eyeshadow palette (everyday colour I use for a natural look is called TEXTURE)
Chanel Face powder no50
So my vanity is based on my window seal and everything fits in place :) that is including my make-up, my face products, lashes, fragrances and hair accessories! Having my make up on my window seal does improve the quality of my make up as I do my face in natural light. I have a nice handy mirror and a chair that  I use everyday.

I must say I did purchase this acrylic storage from Muji for roughly £10 if I remember correctly. They come as a set of two draws and I currently have two sets which equals four drawers; I really need to get another set as my drawers are overflowing :(

here we have the rest of my window seal
Chanel foundation along with a face powder
Wet n wild vanity palette
Mary Kay foundation
Laura Mercier tinted moisturiser
Lilly Ghalichi lashses along with a few Red Cherry lashes
Sarah Jessica Parker perfume
Jimmy Choo perfume
Juicy Couture perfume
Coconut milk for hair
Paris Hilton perfume
Ben Nye Powder (Sienna)
V05 dry shampoo
A beauty blender

This is actually what is in my drawers

BONE STRAIGHT HAIR!

KONICHIWA!

I haven't made a post in exactly a month and four days!

I guess I was still contemplating about what I want my blog to be about and how frequently I should actually make posts!

After a few weeks of ruminating I have decided that I shall blog about all the things that interest me. I want my blog to be full of diversity so there will ne a mixture of health and fitness, nursing ethics, hair and beauty and of course fashion!

So today's post is going to be a little different from my last few posts and it is going to be on HAIR!

As a female my hair is very important to me and a has a very big impact on the way I look; I'd say my hair is actually the most important part of me.

I say this because I actually can't leave my house without my hair done. There was actually a time when I didn't attend work because my hair wasn't done!

What I mean by "having my hair done" is having my hair in extensions or weave.

Having my hair in a weave is actually mandatory; it is a significant part of me. I usually have hairstyles such as a side partings, fringes or a middle part. (Quite simple no?)

I'm not really a fan of natural hair because my natural hair tends to get quite tough and difficult to manage. I do have to hand it to the natural hair sisters but I prefer permimg my hair against anything in the world.

The last type of
weave I purchased before my current weave was the Malaysian loose curl texture. I did enjoy this bouncy, voluminous hair but I have to switch it up from time to time. For the duration of time I had this hair I think I just about did everything to it: dyed it, curled, straightened, washed and even went swimming in Barbados with it.

Me dancing on my birthday
I wanted to go for a different look this time around so I went ahead and purchased Malaysian straight hair. I'm a big fan of Malaysian hair because it lasts long, has minimal shedding and puts up with all the different tasks I put it through. I had to get jet black hair because it is very elegant and classy. The lengths I have in are 1x70g 16", 1x100g 20", 1x100g bundle 22" and 1x100g bundle 24".

GOODBYE OILY SKIN!

Hello again!

For the past four months I have been free from oily skin; I never touch up my make up! (Excluding the lippy of course)

Allow me to explain....

My oldest sister came home from work one day and was showing off her face, her face looked like she had just done her make up. OIL FREE and if your like me and have incredibly oily skin especially the t-zone area and open pores you would do what any normal person would do and pester her until she tells you what she had done to achieve such.

My sister being my sister teased and refused to tell me the secret so I was bugging her for a few hard days!

Eventually, she told me her secret and here it is!!!!

MAC PREP + PRIME FACE PROTECT PROTECTION VISAGE SPF 50 (face primer) £22

&

CLARINS ULTRA-MATTE REBALANCING LOTION (face cream) £28

A face primer is one of the best ways to insure your makeup stays on longer. Primers are excellent for people with combination to oily skin.  I feel the MAC primer has a smooth base for make up. After doing my research on this product I found it also contains an oil-absorbing powder which helps to prevent oil breakthrough similar to my Clarins product.

When I was in House of Fraser (department store in the UK) I was talking to the beauty assistant assistant for quite a while because the price stunned me so I wanted to know more.
She assured me the lotion worked because: it has Ultra-fine powders which absorbs excess oil and reduces shine, it leaves the skin matte and gives you very soft skin, however with the assistance of the primer helps your make up stay in place throughout the day.

So here is how it goes.....I'd apply the moisturise to my cleansed face (allow it to sink in for a few minutes) then apply the primer, then continue with my usual foundation routine.
I've been doing this for four months now and I haven't had to "powder my nose" or touch up my make up at all. Especially since I work in a children's hospital; which means I spend my days running up and down the ward and chasing after the children.

AND THAT IS WHY MY MAKE-UP ALWAYS LOOKS SO FLAWLESS! shhhhhhhhhhh...

I LOVE COCONUT

BONJOUR!
Ok, so this is my first ever blog post and I have been contemplating making a blog for quite a bit now so I thought whilst I have a bit of time on my hands I might as well!!

I thought my first blog post should be on something quite important to me and this is SMELLING NICE!

Smelling good is remarkably important to me!

I love walking past someone and they can smell me, I love walking into my room and I can smell different candles/perfumes and just overall good smells!

I think my favourtite fragrance of 2012 would have to be the KIM KARDASHIAN perfume; this perfume is titled "Kim Kardashian" and it just simply smells very similar to Paris Hilton, Michael Kors and mixture of Britney Spears 'Curious' with a floral sweet drydown.

I have spent loads of money on different fragrances and things in the past but my CURRENT bath favourite is COCONUT!!!

Firstly, when you are trying to maintain healthy skin it is helpful to eat certain healthful foods that are rich in specific nutrients. One such food is raw coconut which contains properties that help promote clearer, healthier and more youthful skin!

I feel like everyone eats/drinks coconut in some way, shape or form! I personally love the pineapple and coconut juice drinks.

The smell of coconut bath products are just to die for!!! Here are a few coconut products I use to moisturise and exfoliate my skin!

I use a coconut body scrub from The Body Shop to exfoliate my skin occasionally with bath mittens/gloves to fight off dead skin cells as well as to achieve healthy and glowing skin.

Exfoliation can resolve things like blemished skin, clogged pores, hyperpigmentation and dry skin.

I then moisturise my skin every day with coconut body butter (also from The Body Shop)

I also have a few miscellaneous coconut products from drug stores. (Boots, superdrug)
